My client is seeking a dedicated professional to take ownership of critical financial functions and support their team in achieving operational excellence.This role is based in Wadeville, Johannesburg East.Key Responsibilities:Debt Management: Proactively follow up on customer payments and resolve queries to ensure efficient debt control.Payroll Coordination: Oversee payroll transactions, including reconciliations and management.Compliance: Prepare and submit statutory returns and payments in line with regulatory requirements.Cash Flow Management: Plan and monitor daily cash flow to maintain financial stability.Transaction Accuracy: Ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate ledgers and accurately reflect financial activities.Financial Reporting: Handle accounting tasks up to trial balance, prepare month-end management accounts, and assist with budget preparation and forecasting.Chart of Accounts Maintenance: Maintain and update the chart of accounts, including creating new general ledger accounts, customers, and suppliers.Reconciliations: Perform inter-company reconciliations and verify the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable.Financial Statements: Assist in processing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.Expense Reviews: Support the review of expenses and payroll records for accuracy.Database Management: Update financial data to ensure it is accurate and readily available for reporting purposes.Fixed Assets and Stock: Maintain the fixed asset register, oversee stock management, and conduct cost analysis to identify potential savings.Customer Credit: Evaluate and process customer credit applications.Team Support: Collaborate with the Financial Manager during month-end and year-end closings, and contribute to various accounting projects.Education and Experience Required:Completed Degree in Accounting.5 years experience in a similar role.Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles is essential.A solid background in accounting, with a proven track record of managing financial operations.Proficiency in accounting software and strong knowledge of financial regulations.Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
