Main Purpose of Job
Attend to the mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair of company vehicles
Responsibilities:
Undertake vehicle inspections and checksDiagnose and fault finding as per the job card instructionsIdentify parts to be replaced and/or repairedSubmit parts and consumables requisition to supervisorFix and fit parts and consumables as requiredEnsure that work quality is consistent with prescribed standardsEnsure all machines, equipment and/or gear is in a safe working conditions on commencement of any repairs, and left in a safe working condition on completion of repairsIsolate the unit before leaving siteReport any incomplete repairs on units unfit for use to the supervisor as well as to the person in charge on siteConform with the departments job card procedure i.e. labour, kilometres, travelling, buy-outs, stores issues or sundries processingOperators logbooks to be signed each time a mechanic visits the machines
