The Role / Purpose
As the Head of Partner Travel Services, you will lead the building of a new business line within the Group that is founded on the Group’s leading position across tailormade safari travel, customer experience and technology. The role encompasses the definition, negotiation and delivery of service propositions focused on high end tailormade travel to ancillary partners that bring closed audience groups (e.g. banks, loyalty programs, etc).
You will work closely with other executives and key stakeholders in the wider Group to plan, build and execute upon the roll out of this new business. This is an opportunity to head up a newly formed business and lead it upon a path of successful growth.
A successful implementation of the Partner Travel Services Desk will result in a significant increase of the overall commercial scale of the Group and bring its positive impact ambition to new target audiences.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Key responsibility for overall planning and execution of the Partner Travel Services including roadmap, budgeting and day-to-day-management2. Bringing already established partnership opportunities to fruition through refining of the proposition, commercial model and negotiation, and successful onboarding3. Establishing the detailed operational model with other parts of the Group in terms of service delivery and operations, and monitor performance thereof4. SA Steelworks has Senior Operator positions available. The successful candidates will provide support to SA Steelworks Meltshop Department. Applicants will be required to complete a skills test, only candidates with an average of 70% can successfully apply for the vacancy. (SHIFT POSITION)
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Must be able to do basic mathematical calculations to ensure correct process parametersAccurate setup, adjustments, operation and maintenance of machinery/stands/ mechanism in the production line processConduct daily inspection of relevant work area and report possible failures or unsafe working conditionsMaintain standard machine operating procedures when operating machineryGeneral maintenance and cleaning of the work area/workstation you are responsible for
Must enforce and practice housekeeping policies
Effectively monitor production processAbility to analyze potential failures and communicate accordingly with possible solutions in a timeous manner
Ensure shift handover is conducted thoroughly and that all issues are reported clearly on a daily basis
Abiding by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act and
Company policies
Quality control according to set standardsAdhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) as per tasks assigned
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
Matric (Maths Compulsory)Diploma or studying towards a qualification in EngineeringComputer LiterateStrong knowledge of machineryAbility to detect machine discrepanciesPrevious experience operating FEL / Forklift / Grab advantageousExperience working in the steel industry advantageousAbility to work under pressure in a demanding environmentWillingness to work overtime and SHIFTSMust consistently be conscious of and compliant with Health & Safety rules and regulationsGood communication skillsIn good health, physically fit

Receive members and help them with submission of claim.
First ensure that the member is a member of the FundEnsure that the member is not still employed in the industryCheck that the contributions are up to dateCheck that all claim documents are available:
Claim documents are completed, signed and stamped by both employer and memberCopy of ID is available and clearCopy of bank statement is available and clearValid Tax number for the member
Advise member if there are any discrepancies regarding the membership or any of the above.Help member to understand what the member needs to do.
Attend to members and beneficiaries who are submitting and following up on their claims (withdrawal, funeral, disability, death, unclaimed benefits, retirement, trust fund)
Ensure that the member’s claim has the necessary documentation and attachments according to type of claim.Escalate claims that are outside the service level agreement.Advise member of any outstanding documentation or what will affect the delay of the claim.
Advise members who come to enquire about their membership on their statusWhere a member has shown proof that they were employed and the employer has not paid, refer to the relevant CLO/MCLO for further investigation.Provide members with benefit statements, contribution history and quotations where available.Educate members on benefits of the fund and process.Provide a daily report to the manager for consideration and review.
Reporting and Admin
Submit daily and weekly reports.All claims and documents to be uploaded and indexed on Everest/EPIC system used by Salt
