hands-on Butchery Store Managers to drive their operations to new heights. You must have demonstrated leadership and deep meat
(Butchery) industry expertise.
The
non-negotiables:
Proven
Butchery Manager Background: You must have a minimum of 5 years' recent
experience as a Senior Butchery Manager in a stand-alone or high-volume retail
butchery environment.
Financial
& Commercial Acumen: Exceptional skills in Gross Profit (GP)
management, pricing strategy, yield optimisation (block tests), stock control,
and budgeting are critical. You must speak the language of butchery
profitability fluently.
Hands-On
Meat Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of meat cuts (beef, lamb, poultry
etc.), fabrication, portioning, packaging, display merchandising, temperature
control, and rigorous hygiene/safety standards (HACCP) is paramount.
Leadership
& People Skills: A natural leader who inspires, trains, and motivates
staff. Excellent communication skills for dealing effectively with both your
team and customers. Hardworking and hands on- leading by example.
Practical
Requirements: Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town. Possess a valid
driver's license and have reliable access to your own personal vehicle.
Customer
Focus: Ensure exceptional customer service, resolve queries, and build
strong relationships.
Operational
Efficiency: Optimise workflows, manage supplier relationships, oversee
ordering and deliveries, and ensure equipment maintenance.
