We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across the workplace to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.Identify hazards and take corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of workplace safety.Collaborate with department heads to ensure safety standards are met.Maintain safety records and documentation in compliance with legal and company standards.Lead safety meetings and awareness campaigns.Qualifications:Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.Ability to identify risks and develop practical solutions.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) SACPCMP CHSO/ Candidate CHSO registration is required. The position will require you to travel across KZN code 8 license and own transport is required. There will always be the need for evening inspections. SkillsProblem Solving & Critical Thinking:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate situations, make decisions quickly, and implement effective solutions.Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey safety policies, procedures, and recommendations to staff and management.Attention to Detail:Precision in identifying safety issues and ensuring all documentation, reports, and safety plans are accurate and up to date.Organizational Skills:Ability to manage multiple tasks, conduct regular audits, inspections, and ensure safety compliance across different departments.Technical Proficiency:Familiarity with safety management software, reporting tools, and other technology used in the safety management process.Team Collaboration:Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, contractors, and external regulatory bodies to ensure a cohesive safety approach.Leadership & Influence:Strong leadership abilities to drive a safety culture and influence others to prioritize health and safety standards.Attention to Compliance:Knowledge of local, regional, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring all activities meet required standards.Please only apply if you meet the above requirements.
