Job Location: Franschhoek, Western CapeJob Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable mature Female (40+) Assistant Bookkeeper to support our accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records. This role will involve a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency with accounting software, and a keen eye for detail.Key Responsibilities:• Data Entry: Input financial transactions into accounting software accurately and in a timely manner.• Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Help with processing vendor invoices, expense reports, and customer payments.• Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing by preparing payroll data and verifying hours worked.• Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Drafting of Management Accounts.• Inventory Management: Support tracking and reconciling inventory transactions.• Tax Preparation Support: Help in gathering necessary documentation for tax filings and audits.• Filing and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all documents are properly filed and organized.• Communication: Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.• Other Duties: Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as required.Qualifications:• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.• Experience: Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting support is a plus, but not required.
