This exceptional 1963 example, finished in Seafoam White with a navy blue leather interior and straight-grain walnut accents, is a standout. Fitted with power-assisted steering and air conditioning, it was originally delivered to California, where it remained in single ownership for decades. In 2018, it was sold to a classic car dealer in the Netherlands before being acquired by a renowned Mercedes-Benz collector in 2019.
What followed was a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration, executed to exacting standards. Every component was restored or refinished to concours-level quality, resulting in a car that not only looks showroom-new but also performs as intended. The car has since earned top honours — including First Place at the Mercedes-Benz of South Africa National Concours and Overall Winner at Concourse S.A.
Powered by a 2.2-litre inline-six with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, the 220SE Coupe delivers 120 hp through either a 4-speed manual or optional automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0–60 mph in approximately 12 seconds and reaches a top speed of 105 mph — impressive figures for a refined luxury coupe of the period. Independent suspension and power-assisted brakes add to the smooth, confident driving experience.
Built in limited numbers — just 14,173 units between 1961 and 1965 — the 220SE Coupe was tailored for a discerning clientele who valued elegance over ostentation. Ford escort mk1 1600xl for sale. Car is running a 1600 kent fuel injection turbo setup. Dictator 60-2 management. I have this Mk2 Cortina 2-door shell available.The car has been in storage for the last couple of years. I washed it for the photos, and the floors and boot were still wet when I took the photos while I left it to dry out in the sun. I do not know what year model the car is, it does not have any paperwork, it was bought with the intention of turning it into a race car, but that never happened. The VIN on the tag, matches the number on the strut top. All the body panels are present, apart from the bonnet. Glass is there apart from the windscreen and one door glass. The body does need some work, but it's still in a very good condition if you take the age into consideration and compare it to some of the other Mk2s out there.This car would be suited for someone building a racecar or who needs panels to repair their car. I took photos of the spares that are in the boot that will be coming with the car. What you see in the pictures is what there is; I don't have any other parts for this car. Please note, front wheels will be changed - they are loan units as I need to replace the tyres that were on the front due to them not holding air. Located in PE/GQ.
