ROLE OVERVIEWA leading Chrome Ore Producer is seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Maintenance Foreman to oversee the day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance of its chromite processing plant, situated approximately 90km East of Polokwane / 65km West of Burgersfort. The successful candidate will manage a team of artisans and ensure the continuous and efficient operation of critical fixed plant equipment in support of the companys underground mining and mineral refining operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenance Supervision & LeadershipSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of the plant maintenance team, including mechanical and electrical artisans.Lead fault-finding efforts and oversee emergency and planned maintenance interventions.Ensure the plant operates with minimum downtime by implementing proactive maintenance strategies.Mentor and develop team members, identifying training needs and performance gaps.Processing Plant Equipment OversightMaintain and repair critical chromite processing equipment including crushers, vibrating screens, spiral concentrators, ball mills, slurry pumps, conveyors, and dewatering systems.Manage and monitor systems such as VSDs, PLCs, MCCs, and plant-wide instrumentation.Conduct routine plant inspections and ensure adherence to OEM specifications and asset care standards.Health, Safety & Environmental CompliancePromote a strong safety culture through regular toolbox talks, risk assessments, and enforcement of SOPs.Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), environmental regulations, and site-specific procedures.Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.Collaboration & ReportingCoordinate closely with the underground maintenance and production teams to align plant performance with mine output.Ensure accurate maintenance record-keeping, CMMS updates, and availability of critical spares.Prepare and submit daily and weekly maintenance reports, highlighting plant performance trends and maintenance KPIs.REQUIREMENTSTrade Test Qualification as Electrical Artisan or Millwright.Minimum 10 years experience in a mining or mineral processing environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.Strong experience in chrome or PGM processing will be advantageous.Deep technical knowledge of chromite plant processes, electrical control systems (PLCs/VSDs), and high-voltage https://www.executiveplacements.com/Jobs/P/Plant-Maintenance-Foreman-1183347-Job-Search-5-8-2025-4-33-47-AM.asp?sid=gumtree
