Ford has taken it iconic high-performance Mustang and made it even more faster with the introduction of a Dark Horse edition.
The Mustang Dark Horse features a uniquely engineered fourth-generation Coyote V8 engine with 373kW (500hp) and 567Nm, making it the most powerful non-Shelby edition ever.
The naturally aspirated V8 features upgrades like a balanced crankshaft and forged piston connecting rods (to handle higher cylinder pressures and piston speeds) and strengthened camshafts for track-durability , with a 7 500rpm redline.
"Mustang has always pushed the envelope. From Mustang GT to Dark Horse, this is our best 5.0-liter V8 yet. It’s naturally aspirated awesomeness. And Mustang EcoBoost fans are also getting a boost in power to make every Mustang more fun and visceral to drive," says Ed Krenz, Mustang chief engineer.
For those that want speed but not as much as the Dark Horse, there is the Mustang EcoBoost and GT derivatives to choose from. The former sports a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine that produces 235kW (315hp) and 474Nm, while the latter is powered by the same Coyote V8 engine with figures of Those opting for the standard Mustang GT still enjoy the 358kW and 563Nm (the most standard power in a naturally aspirated V8-powered Mustang ever).
