The advantage for this particular dive mask is its transparent sides, which allow the diver a wider peripheral view than a similar mask with opaque sides. This feature is rather important if you suffer from agoraphobia (fear of open spaces) and do not want to have the tunnel vision opaque diving mask sometimes provide.
