About Us: J&M Famous Biltong is a premier producer and retailer of high-quality biltong. As part of our growth strategy and bolstering our Corporate Retail Stores & Events Department, we want to introduce an experienced MALE candidate to work with our Area Manager in our 12 corporate retail stores and take over operational duties at our contracted Events (DHL Stadium, Expo’s, Golf Days, etc.). Position Overview: (1) The Junior Retail Operations Manager will be mainly responsible for daily instore operations, store presentation, compliance with Company and Government standards and employee management. (2) Take control of event operations, such as site meetings, event applications, set-up & breakdown, employee allocations per events, admin, etc. PLEASE NOTE: This is a JUNIOR management position. Key Responsibilities:Store Operations: Assist Area Manager with daily responsibilities and duties in 12 Corporate stores and 2 Franchise stores.Employee Management: Manage a staff compliment of 35 employees across 12 Corporate stores across Cape Town and ensure employee availability for each shift.Store Performance: Work closely with management to ensure that each store shows annual sales growth and achieve GP’s as per budgets.Store Presentation: Oversee and maintain the implementation of company-regulated merchandising, displays and product presentation and store specific product management.Project Management: Manage all given projects and tasks by executing them timeously and efficiently. Minor Maintenance: Conduct minor instore maintenance duties.Event Operations: Assist Retail/Event Manager with event operations – applications, planning, set up, break down, staffing, management of large events and maintenance of event equipment.Qualifications / Experience:Proven junior management experience within FMCG retail sector of at least 5 years (assistant manager / supervisor / department head in a retail store).28 - 35 Years old.Strong retail management skills, employee management, POS systems, stock management. Excellent mentoring and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.Analytical thinker, problem solver and attention to detail.Experience with event planning/management/participation will be greatly advantageous. Willingness to travel as needed to various locations and work irregular hours/days.Own suitable and reliable vehicle with tow bar for event operations a must.
