Akai Professional Analog CUSTOM SHOP Phase shifter, is one of the more esoteric pedals in the product line.
Phase includes A and B frequency toggle-switches and a Rate knob in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and three control mechanisms provide precision control.
Phase Shifter provides an instantly recognizable swirling sound. The Rate knob sets how often the oscillation effect waveform repeats as well as the resulting pitch and depth of the signal. The A and B frequency toggle-switches can be set in four different ways. Combining these four settings with subtle changes to the Rate knob results in a range of lush, atmospheric ambience that swirls around as much or as little as desired.

You'll swear your sound gets right up and walks out of your cabinet! With an absolutely monstrously heavy sound, the Zombie creates a rectified asymmetric distortion with user control of the symmetry balance of the distortion output waveform. In essence, this creates the psycho-acoustic 3D sound positioning effect that will make your sound jump out of the cab. The Zombie gives you distortion that cuts through the mix, plus two bands of EQ.
A control called STARE adjusts the symmetry of the distortion. Turning the control clockwise increases the symmetry offset of the distortion waveform, while counter-clockwise decreases the asymmetry of the distortion. The SCREAM control adjusts the rectified distortion. Use the LOUDER control to adjust the overall output of the Zombie pedal. BASS control adjusts the bass frequencies and TREBLE control adjusts the overall treble frequencies.
The ON LED will light when the Zombie is active. The Zombie is a great choice when used with an ALL TUBE guitar amplifier to deliver rectified distortion. It can take a plain sounding TUBE amp and produce rectified distortion that rivals the sound of the most expensive amplifiers in this class. The S520EX features a thin, sculpted mahogany body bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and claw scratch inlays only at the twelfth fret. Components include a pair of Ibanez Infinity covered humbucking pickups and a ZR ball-bearing pivot double locking tremolo bridge with a ZPS2 tuning stabilizer.
The S520EX is the second model known by that name after a 2002 model. A special limited version of the S520EX was offered in 2007 as the S07LTD.
The S520EX was discontinued after 2009 in favor of a new series of 24-fret S models.

Route 66 offers classic compression combined with classic overdrive modeled after the sound of the original TS-808 Tubescreamer (JRC4558 chip and all!). These two effects are great on their own and can be combined to complement one another. In fact, Route 66 corrects many common complaints of guitarists concerning the original Tubescreamer - it was lacking sustain and bottom end. Combine the overdrive with the compression to get all the sustain you want. Add the Overdrive Bass Boost and get that big cabinet sound. The Route 66 responds especially well when paired with a good tube amp!
