A well-established packaging manufacturer has a vacancy for a Qualified Electrician. This is a 3-month fixed term contract. The role is based in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs and will report to the Workshop Manager.

The job requirements and duties are as follows:

· Recognised Red Seal Certificate (non-negotiable).

· Preferably 3 – 5+ years’ experience in the production environment.

· Proven knowledge of installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, distribution boards and variable speed drives.

· Responsible for maintaining hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components such as cylinders, pumps, conveyors, motor valves and bearing assembles.

· The incumbent must be able to read electrical drawings and technical diagrams.

· Excellent fault-finding skills in electrical and mechanical areas necessary.

· 3 Phase knowledge strongly advantageous.

· Working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller) a distinct advantage.

· Experience on packaging and extrusion machines preferred.

· Valid driver’s licence

Minimum requirements:

· Grade 12

· Red Seal Certification (non-negotiable)

· Excellent fault-finding skills

· Proven experience as a maintenance electrician

· Familiarity with industrial machines

· Valid Driver’s licence

· Good communication skills

· Work independently and as part of a team.

The position will require occasional overtime, weekend shifts and standby work, and the salary is commensurate with experience.
