Clothing Factory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Supervisor/Line Manager to join our dynamic clothing production team.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of a production line, ensuring garments are manufactured to the highest quality standards and meet tight deadlines. You will be responsible for optimizing production efficiency through line balancing and possess a strong understanding of garment construction processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure production consistently meets or exceeds quality standards and established output targets.
• Train and develop new staff on all aspects of production processes and equipment, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
• Analyze production flow and implement effective line balancing strategies to minimize bottlenecks and maximize output.
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
• Proactively identify and resolve any machine or material issues that could disrupt production.
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clothing production environment (or similar), with a proven track record of success in a supervisory role.
• Formal qualifications in a relevant field, such as National Certificate in Clothing Manufacturing Processes NQF Level 2, or a related.
• In-depth understanding of garment construction processes, including sewing techniques, materials, and quality control procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address production challenges.
• A keen eye for detail and a unwavering commitment to quality.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Understanding of line balancing principles and techniques, with a demonstrated ability to implement them effectively.
