Our client in the agricultural sector is seeking an Automation Technician to join their team. This role will report directly to the Technical Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Development of AutoCAD drawings and design.
Assist with technical projects and Beta Sites as and when needed.
Assist with assembly.
Automation of irrigation dosing units.
Assist with controllers in cabinets with protection devices.
Assist with assembly of radio units.
Testing software and hardware.
Wiring of cabinets and panels
Troubleshooting of controller hardware and software.
Assist with telephonic support to dealers and end users.
On-Site support to dealers and end users â?? South Africa and SADC Countries.

Machining: Use appropriate machinery to execute tasks for e.g. Proper use of lathe machine for turning, facing, grooving, parting, boring, tapping, etc. Proper use of milling machine for forming flat surfaces, cutting slots, drilling or reaming holes, gear cutting, etc. Proper use of surface grinding machine for surface finishing, remove material for small tolerances, etc. On completion of parts ensure that all shape edgers and burs are removed, and the part is treated for the next phase. (Lubricate and store in a dry area to avoid rust.)
Fitting: Appropriate fitting method must be used to perform tasks like: Fitment and alignment of drives, brakes, clutches, gears, sprockets, bearing, etc. Fitment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, etc. Fitment of Pneumatic and hydraulic components.
Installation- Planning: Check that all part complies with procurement register and data pack (Report any deviations). Check that all tools and equipment is available to execute task. Plan a working procedure for the task. Complete MJR’s for parts/items required to execute. Read and understand the layout, floor plans, routing and inspect site.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of equipment used within the food manufacturing industry. They are currently seeking to employ an experienced electrician to join their team.
Duties:
Physical wiring of equipment according to production priorities.
Monitor consumable usage to improve cost saving.
Assist to update electrical diagram / drawings. (Report all problems on drawings)
Assist to update electrical BOM of equipment. (Report all problems on BOM)
Assist in designing new electrical circuits / electronic equipment and improve existing products when required.
Program, calibrate and test touch screen-controlled equipment to assure it is sufficient and according to specifications.
Plant electrical maintenance: check and repair any problems on electrical hand tools, machinery, welding machines, extension leads and dB boards on the premises.
Ensure compliance with all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.
Check stocks of electrical consumables according to the BOM and report shortages.
Report writing of production output.
Bakery / catering equipment, experience an advantage.
Note: it is 3 phase control circuits with SSR, contactors, overloads, electrical motors, temperature controllers, timer, switch gear with touch screen control / pc control board systems.
Requirements:
Qualified Electrician -Red Seal Artisan
Wireman’s License.

Minimum Requirements:
National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
Minimum N3 Engineering Studies Certificate.
Electrician Trade Test Certificate (Section 13/Red Seal).
Minimum of 3 - 5 yearsâ?? post trade working experience in a technical steel / manufacturing environment.
Driverâ??s License with own reliable transport.
Skills and knowledge required:
PLC & Drive experience (programming skills beneficial).
Knowledge of various sensors (Inclino sensors, Read switches and encoders).
Electrical experience in a plant environment.
