An established Accounting practice in Durbanville requires the services of an Accountant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work independently on client portfolios
Monthly processing of small clients (CC's and Companies) on Xero
Weekly/Monthly update of wages/salaries for clients on Intercode/Simple Pay
Calculation and preparation of EMP201, VAT201, ITR12 & IT14
Accounting work in relation to Annual Financial Statements (general journals, provisions journals, asset register updates and depreciation journals, VAT reconciliations and tax calculations)
Preparation of financial statements on Draftworx
Communicate with clients and handle inquiries
REQUIREMENTS
Good communication skills
Afrikaans as home language
Previous experience in accounting practice
Computer literate in excel
Post-school course/diploma with accounting experience in preparing Annual Financial Statements
Valid driver's license
Experience in Draftworx and Xero
Be a motivated self-starter available to work independently and have a good working knowledge of the industry
BONUS
Tax Practitioner's registration would be beneficial
Strong focus on compliance
Good working knowledge of Efiling
Own transport is essential
Salary is depending on your experience

Job Purpose:
To manage the accounts department within the Restaurants Tasting Room by meeting and exceeding all accounting standards as set out by Accounts and by the Group Financial Manager. Be responsible to provide for the efficient service and day-to-day running of the Accounts department by implementing and maintaining systems and procedures. Assist the group finance manager in daily capturing, monthly recons and report composition as well as day to day accounting work in AR, AP and GL capturing journals. Knowledge on finance practices. Tax, Vat and excise knowledge
Requirements:
• Grade 12
• BCOM (or CIMA will be advantageous)
• 5 years proven working experience as a senior Bookkeeper or Accountant
• Strong excel skills
• Well versed in both English and Afrikaans Language (Verbal and Written)
• Proficient working experience with Accounting Systems, i.e Xero, Pastel (advantageous)
• Other systems: Lightspeed/Ikentoo, Marketman (advantageous)
• Hospitality / Restaurant experience/background preferred
